๐Ÿ“š (English) Is It Really Possible?

After reading ใ€ŽThe Buddhaโ€™s Words: Super Translationใ€

๐Ÿ“– Book Title: ใ€ŽThe Buddhaโ€™s Words: Super Translationใ€
โœ๏ธ Author: Ryunosuke Koike
๐ŸŽฏ Recommended for: Those who need short writings to calm their minds when overwhelmed by afflictions
๐ŸŒŸ One-line Impression: Is it really the right thing to do? Even if it is, is it really possible?

This book is by Ryunosuke Koike, well known for ใ€ŽPractice of Letting Go of Thoughtsใ€! I had often heard about the Buddhist truth of โ€œemptinessโ€ before, and I picked up this book expecting Buddhist stories, similar to the biblical tales of Sodom and Gomorrah. Honestly, given the title, โ€œThe Buddhaโ€™s Words,โ€ that was a wrong expectation!! However~!! The book explains Buddhaโ€™s teachings in simple language, giving me many opportunities to think deeply!

๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ Starting Thoughts

When reading this book, I focused more on โ€˜how to manage my mindโ€™ rather than from a religious perspective.
The core message conveyed through Buddhaโ€™s words is simple yet powerful:
โ€œThe more you are attached to and desire things, the more suffering you experience,โ€ and โ€œEmpty your mind.โ€

Yet, while reading, I couldnโ€™t help but wonder: is it really possible to live like that?

๐Ÿค” Is a Calm Mind Possible?

How wonderful would the world be if everyone lived according to the Buddhaโ€™s teachings?
But reality seems quite different..

  • If I alone live by these ideals, wouldnโ€™t I end up at a disadvantage?
  • Amidst a world full of selfish people, can I truly find peace just by letting go?

Worse yet, a crooked thought even crossed my mind โ€” if everyone else lived like Buddha and I alone acted selfishly, might I be even happier?

๐ŸŒฑ The Answer Lies Within

Even so, despite the confusion and conflicting thoughts, one thing gradually became clearer:

World peace isnโ€™t something external, but something found within my own heart.

Rather than trying to change others, focusing on self-cultivation is essential.
I could wholeheartedly agree that emptying the mind and delving deeper into self-exploration requires persistent effort.

๐Ÿ“– The Most Memorable Quote

The quote that left the strongest impression on me can be summarized in my own words:

Our body, thoughts, and so on are, at their core, just clusters of proteins and bones. Do not suffer over them.

When you think about it, our existence is neither that complicated nor that special.
Instead of tormenting ourselves with suffering and affliction, we should adopt a light and accepting attitude โ€” thatโ€™s what I was reminded of.

โœจ In Conclusion

ใ€ŽThe Buddhaโ€™s Words: Super Translationใ€ helps make life feel lighter and encourages deeper self-reflection.

As the title suggests, it is a โ€œsuper translationโ€ that modern readers can easily understand.

It is filled with short yet deeply resonating sentences that you can turn to whenever your mind feels chaotic.

Though putting these lessons into practice may not be easy, I want to remember that the process of striving and reaffirming these efforts itself holds great meaning.
